Meet Dozer!

Dozer is a jiggly, wiggly hunk of Bulldog with a nub tail that twitches whenever he’s happy! This playful, people-oriented boy loves attention, guidance, and being close to his humans. Once he gets his excitement out after greeting you, he’s happy to grab a toy, chew on a bone, or settle down contentedly at your feet.

Dozer is potty-trained and has good house manners. He knows several commands, including "sit", "no", and his name, and he generally listens well. He sticks to his own toys rather than getting into things he shouldn’t, and he stays off the furniture. He isn’t fully crate-trained yet, but he’s making great progress. A treat is usually all it takes to get him into his crate, where he settles quietly for a nap.

Like many Bulldogs, Dozer comes with some classic Bulldog quirks. His facial structure means he makes plenty of adorable grunts and snorts. He also has seasonal allergies and takes Claritin daily. He can be itchy, but it’s currently manageable, and he is always happy to accept a good butt scratch! Dozer is playful, but he can easily overdo it and become overexerted, resulting in raspy, heavy breathing. His family will need to be mindful of his activity level and give him plenty of opportunities to rest, whether he wants to or not!

Dozer is still getting comfortable with new situations and can be apprehensive and easily startled. When unfamiliar people come into the home, he may become uneasy, retreat, or take on an alert stance. Outside, he has barked at unfamiliar people while keeping his distance, but he has been able to be redirected. He has also reportedly done well with dogs he has interacted with previously, although he can be somewhat apprehensive at first. He is reportedly "more afraid of cat than they are of him".

Dozer is a sweet, affectionate boy who is looking for a family willing to give him a little time and patience as he learns that new people and new experiences are nothing to fear. Once he feels comfortable, he’s happiest being right by your side, chewing his bone, playing with his toys, and enjoying life with his people.
