Our Process

At New Orleans Bulldog Rescue, we're constantly bringing new dogs into our program, so the number of adoptable dogs is always changing. As new dogs enter our program, the available breeds, personalities, energy-levels, health statuses, and ages continue to vary. We strive to have a wide range of dogs available for adoption. These include dogs ranging from puppies to seniors, from Frenchies to pit bulls, from running partners to couch potatoes, and from perfect health to special needs. We're also proud to care for dogs who are traditionally overlooked in shelter settings.

When a new dog enters our program, our first step is to provide them with a full veterinary exam. From there, we place each dog in an experienced foster home. While in foster care, we treat medical issues, allow the dog to decompress and recover from their traumatic transition, and then begin assessing their temperament. It is necessary to provide each dog with comfort and stability to accurately gauge their personality. Once we've assessed their personality, we can begin looking for their forever home!

If you're interested in fostering with us, please see our Fosters Needed! page.
